HENSOLDT and Secure Elements jointly created HENSOLDT Cyber, based in Munich, to address the large and growing challenges to the security of embedded IT and cyber-physical systems. Our approach is based on secure hardware designs, novel techniques for secure production, combined with mathematically proved software. This will result in a trustworthy base for highly-secure systems.

We are looking for highly motivated and talented engineers to work closely with world-leading experts in a modern, dynamic working environment. Specifically we are looking for skills in chip design and implementation, chip testing and validation, operating-system design and implementation, vulnerability analysis and software quality assurance. We can accommodate a range of experience levels. Specific activities include:

  • Platform enablement and integration testing of the seL4 microkernel and an seL4-based operating system (OS)
  • Design and implementation of OS components, including device drivers, file systems and networking components
  • Validation and quality assurance
  • Chip design, implementation, validation
  • Development of tools and frameworks for seL4-based systems, including generation of components from high-level specifications
  • Product development

We are generally looking for applicants with Masters or PhD qualifications in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Physics in one of these areas:

  • System-on-Chip design
  • Chip Design Process including test, packaging & printed-circuit board (PCB) design
  • Embedded processor design
  • Semiconductor manufacturing process
  • Operating systems, especially microkernels
  • Experiences in software validation / quality assurance, development processes, formal static analysis, informal validation tools, development of test suites, regression testing, performance evaluation and analysis

We furthermore expect experience with modern development tools and processes, including revision management systems (git), regression testing, code review processes. Experience in industrial product development is a plus. Experience in leading development teams is essential for appointments at team-leader level and above. You'll have to be prepared to obtain a German government security clearance (German citizenship is not a requirement for this).
